Understanding Medication-Related Belief in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes: a Meta-Analytic Review

Background: The medication belief and appropriate on-time usage are crucial determinants of diabetes control. present systematic review has been conducted to examine the status beliefs patients with type 2 based on a meta-analysis. Materials methods: This study is meta-analysis in 2021. Keywords “Medication belief”, “BMQ (Belief Medication Questionnaire)”, “patients diabetes”, “diabetes mellitus” were searched Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, Science direct, Magiran, SID, Irandoc database from 2010 pooled score its dimensions estimated through random-effects using STATA 15. Also, heterogeneity across articles was determined I statistic. Results: Out 584 articles, 8 studies selected analyzed. Based estimates obtained random effects method, at 2.877 (95% CI: 2.22–3.53). scores specific necessity, concern, general harm overuse calculated 3.60 2.92–4.06), 3.02 2.19–3.85), 2.26 1.50–3.02) 2.54 1.96–3.12) respectively. Public education about side drugs, narcotics, drug dependence reduces patients’ worries anxieties, which turn their anxious thoughts brings relief patients.
